I liked how Rebekah Nathan did her research by immersing herself as a new freshman at the place she was a professor at for years. She took part in everything that a new freshman would do and see to get a complete understanding of what goes on.
I thought it was funny and kind of reassuring that she said as a professor she thought that she knew the campus and a little about students lives at the university and admitted that she was finding herself lost on the campus that she taught at, also that she was surprised at how students lived at the university.Throughout her research she also interviews students and looks at their door decorations and finds that each student is different in some way and are expressing themselves in different ways. Some join clubs, organizations, sports teams and Greek life which demonstrates her point. I thought this was important because there are two ways people think about trying to make friends by fitting in for example the clubs and organizations or standing out for example by decorations expressing themselves. this shows that in college life and in life in general everyone is diverse and expresses themselves in different ways.
